Welcome to the Cascade Gateway Foundation:

The Cascade Gateway Foundation (CGF) is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers donating time, effort and resources. The (CGF) was formed out of concerns over incompatible uses of land and environmental degradation in the Snoqualmie Valley. Its charter mission is to protect and preserve the resources of the Snoqualmie Valley through education, communication and administrative and legal advocacy.

Mission Statement:

Cascade Gateway Foundation seeks to protect and preserve the resources of the Snoqualmie Valley through education, communication and administrative and legal advocacy.

The Foundation welcomes like-minded individuals, and collaborative affiliations with like-minded organizations. We are in agreement that the Grouse Ridge mining proposal by Cadman and Weyerhaeuser put forward in April, 1998 would be destructive to the Snoqualmie Valley, and we will support the efforts of the foundation to oppose this proposal.

Current Cascade Gateway Goals:

  1. Discover and promote balanced alternatives to the current Grouse Ridge Mining Plan.
  2. Serve as a focal point for opposition to the proposed mining and processing operation.
  3. Insure that Cadman, Weyerhaeuser, King County and Washington State authorities recognize and observe applicable environmental and quality of life regulations.
  4. Keep the Grouse Ridge issues alive and visible to the community, and its elected officials.
